Unfortunately the weather prevented attendees from physically forming the number 350, so they just gathered together, signs in hand, for a group photo.

Over 100 people from all over the Capital Region braved the severe weather and gathered together for an international event on October 24, 2009. Over 5,000 rallies occurred all around the world from Afghanistan, to China, to the Capitol building right here in Albany. Civilians came together to make a statement about global warming, urging political leaders to take immediate action.

350.org, an organization that campaigns for solutions to the climate crisis, focuses on the number 350, which is the parts per million scientists say is the safe limit of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Organizers said this event was "the most widespread day of political action in the planet's history." Speakers at the event addressed climate issues and what the state can do to find solutions.

This day was a major event for the Tck Tck Tck campaign, an organization that is garnering support for a historic agreement at the next United Nations meeting on climate change, which will occur this December in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Attendees at each of the events all over the globe carried signs and assembled to form the number 350 to provide a visual testament of their dedication to the cause.

Anyone who wants to learn more about these campaigns and find events in their area can visit 350.org or tcktcktck.org.
