Fallon has worked alongside Professor Antico and Higher Education Opportunity Program director Mary Fitzsimmons in completing his degree, which he says was always the plan. Antico remembers Fallon as a student who always had high ambition, especially when working on his comedy show, entitled "40 Whacks." "I saw him be in a few of his skits, and he worked really hard," said Antico. "It was hard to tell if he had something special, but he showed talent and ability, and in his performing skills he was a standout."
Fallon now finds himself in a position previously held by such legends as David Letterman and Conan O'Brien as the host of NBC's "Late Night", but he accepts the challenge heartily. "It's really been amazing. It's a lot of work, but you have to keep your head down," said Fallon. "You will be hated, but there's also a lot of constructive criticism, particularly in some of the negative reviews for the show. You have to learn from the show and really move on. The fact that we have the Roots as a house band, it's really great, because even when I'm bad, they're not. We're becoming a really good family, and every show evolves."
Fallon's time at Saint Rose has certainly prepared him for his current career. "College is all about how you learn things through campus, being interactive and networking with others, and learning how to meet people. Meeting people is a real eye-opening thing, in College you get your first responsibilities, like doing shopping for your dorm at Price Chopper. It's a great experience going to school."
Although Fallon's career has already had so many amazing moments, this Saturday could stand to be the biggest. "Graduating from the College of Saint Rose is going to be up there," he said. "It's going to be one of the biggest moments in my career, if not the biggest. I'm really excited."
