The stands were filled with screaming fans adorned with black apparel for the "Black out Game" this evening, as The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team added another victory defeating Southern New Hampshire 73 to 55. The Golden Knights started off slow but shortly turned around. From the 12 minute mark the Golden Knights stayed ahead of the Penman for the entirety of the game. At half time the Knights were leading 37 to 24.

The last time Saint Rose faced SNH they ended the game with a 71 to 61 victory.

"These guys dominate when they get the ball so we wanted to defend them as much as possible," said junior forward Evan Lane.

Lane had 14 rebounds and 10 points this evening. He led the team in rebounds tonight, continuing to hold his top spot in rebounds this season for the Golden Knights.

With the win, the Golden Knights improve to 17-5 on the season and 14-3 in the Northeast-10 Conference. They are currently second in the conference behind Bentley who is undefeated at 21-0. The Falcons are 16-0 in conference play.

Another stand out game came from Senior, Guard, Steve Dagostino. Dagostino had 4 assists and 22 points leading the team in both field goals and assists. Tonight's game marks Dagostino's third straight 20 point game.

"Every game is different," Dagostino said. "I cannot worry about myself personally when I am out there."

Until tonight the Golden Knights fewest points given up in a game all year was 59. They improved that number this evening holding the Penman to 55.

"[We] wanted to play hard every possession and allow no easy baskets," Dagostino said.

"Right now they are focused on finding ways to win games," Head Coach Brian Beaury said. "They cannot over analyze things this late in the season."

Southern New Hampshire's leading scorers in tonight's game came from two freshman, forward, Cory Vejraska and guard Chase Miller, both scoring 11 points. Junior guard Gerald Carter led the team with 9 rebounds.
