The Saint Rose women got an at large bid into the NCAA Tournament but were stopped in their first round match up with a 78-65 loss to ninth-ranked Holy Family.
The Knights, who finished the season 21-9, were up at the intermission by the score of 37-35 . After that Holy Family really took control of the game and outscored the women's team by 15 in the second frame.
Senior guard Linsey Onishuk tied her career-high with 30 points to lead Saint Rose. Also senior guard Mary Lewis had three assists to set a school record of 509 for her career.?
"That's a kid (Onishuk)I coached for four years who brings it every single day. She epitomizes a blue collar, hard-working kid who tries everything to get it done," added Haag.?
"We sputtered a bit on the offensive end as far as executing our sets. This is not where we wanted our season to end. We thought we might be able to wear them down, but they are well coached and Mike (McLaughlin) does a great job with them," said Saint Rose head coach Karen Haag.?
Junior guard Kelly Killion and senior center Megan Bauer of Holy Family both had double-doubles in the win.?
The opening 20 minutes consisted of eight ties and seven lead changes, with neither squad have more then a four point edge at best.

The game brought an end to the career of six seniors who went 8-21 as a freshman in 2003-04, 14-14 as sophomores and then went 40-22 and garnered a pair of NCAA Tournament bids throughout the last two years.?
Aside from Onishuk and Lewis, guard Courtney Ludwig and forwards Julie Reilly, Ashley DuRoss and Ariel Davis comprise the remainder of that class.

As for the men's squad, the team won their first round game on the strength of a career high by junior guard Steve Dagostino who had 36 points in the 87-71 victory over seventh-seed Pace on the campus of Bentley College.

It marked the first time in the last three tournament appearances the Golden Knights advanced beyond the opening round.?
Dagostino had an amazing game with eight three pointers which is a career high and he went a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe.?
I just felt kind of on today and I was able to get some open looks," said Steve Dagostino. "My teammates did a great job of swinging the ball and opening up their zone."?
The Golden Knights led by as many as 14 points three separate times in the game. However, the Setters went on a 10-2 run that was capped off by a 3-pointer from Williams. Fortunately down the stretch, Saint Rose converted 7-of-8 free throws and Dagostino nailed a three with the shot clock running low to pull away.
