Reaching a magnitude of 7.0, this natural disaster killed thousands in the nation's capital of Port-au-Prince, leaving the country in shambles and its residents stripped of the basic resources needed to survive.

Massry receives "green" Gold award

Saint Rose art building recognized for eco-friendly design

On January 11, 2010, The College of Saint Rose received a LEED Gold award by the U.S. Green Building Council for one of the newest building additions to the campus, The Massry Center for the Arts. This award has been given to The College of Saint Rose certifying that The Massry Center for the Arts is one of the most energy-efficient buildings within the Capital Region.

Local shooting puts campus in lockdown

On Wednesday January 13, 2010, at around 7 p.m. two men were shot inside a Pine Hills residence located on the outskirts of the Saint Rose campus. Detectives from the Albany Police Department have reason to believe that this shooting was burglary related, and the victims were not chosen at random.
