From day one of college it is emphasized that students get involved and participate in activities that go beyond their classes and homework. Most students take that as an invitation to join anything and proceed to join everything. One girl, Emily Fealey, wasn't the type to follow the crowd.
Dr. R. Mark Sullivan, President of The College of Saint Rose, recently addressed both Saint Rose students and their parents via a mass mailing. President Sullivan provides information on security upgrades that will greet students upon their return from winter break, as well as updates on building upgrades, summer immersion courses, and recent progress made on the Massry Center for the Arts.

The case involving a first-year student who falsely reported a crime in late October has been adjourned but is still pending. The next court date is slated for January 25.
Jessica Waffle was arrested on November 9 after she reported that two men broke into her Brubacher Hall dormitory room on October 28 and attempted to sexually assault her before stealing items from her room.She faces a misdemeanor charge, and if convicted, she could receive a one-year jail sentence, or a maximum fine of $1,000. The University Police Department conducted the investigation.
It is unclear whether Waffle will return for the spring semester.

Jessica Waffle is tentatively scheduled to appear at Albany City Court on February 2.
"We offer no comment," said Craig M. Crist, Waffle's attorney from Dreyer Boyajian.

The College of Saint Rose is feverishly attempting to locate a missing set of keys to the campus. The keys, which belong to the security department, have been unaccounted for since this past weekend. Among the keys missing is a "master key," which provides total access to all campus buildings and residence halls, and can also unlock any rooms within. It is currently unknown if the set was accidentally misplaced, or the keys were intentionally stolen.
It's mid-December, and for many students, that means a four-week break from papers and projects until Spring semester. For graduating seniors, however, it is the end of Undergraduate work and the beginning of a new mindset-one directly focused on a career.
Gowns were swishing and tassels swaying as Saint Rose students completed their final task and received their Bachelor's and Master's degrees. On December 16 at 10:00 a.m., The College of Saint Rose mid-year graduation took place in the Convention Hall, at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza. Nearly 500 students were awarded degrees.
After a lengthy series of events following his inaugration on January 1, Eliot Spitzer was just one of many who gathered at the Times Union Center for a concert in celebration of his election. The show was free for attendees, thanks in large part to the number of volunteers who put their time into its production. Hosted by former Saint Rose student Jimmy Fallon, the concert included performances from Natalie Merchant and James Taylor.
